LYNDA MILLER BAKER Lynda is a painter specialising in icons, although she refuses to subscribe to any one religion. Similarly she refuses to take on board academia as she has discovered it to be a restrictive influence on the production and character of the work itself. Those who wish to know about the historical, religious and national backgrounds of any work should preferably do their own research. Various books on the subject are available in the studio. Using traditional materials and techniques she allows the icon to develop rather than to inflict her own ego upon the image. In this way she produces work which has a life of its own, something she feels is paramount. HOWARD BAKER A published writer, currently editing and working on his own screenplays, Howard has taken on another metier, that of gardener, or perhaps more precisely one who feels he has been given short term domain over a small part of the Earth. ![]() He is in the process of reverting Thamon to a 'biologique' or organic farm with the aim of producing food vibrant with energy and therapeutic properties. He feels that commercialisation and chemically-induced mass production with profit in mind is a negative approach to what should in an ideal world be a labour of love; that if the world is not as yet an ideal place we should at least be trying to make it that way. | ![]() |
